Birds of the Doubtful Valley - Robin

There are four closely related robins in New Zealand. The North Island and Chatham Island birds belong to one species, while the South Island and Stewart Island robins are two subspecies of a third species. These sparrow-sized birds eat small invertebrates that they find in the leaf litter of forests.
